About Gary

Gary Working on Harold Dull Founder of Watsu

My journey into water therapy began in 1995 when I stumbled upon an article about Harold Dull and his innovative therapy called “Watsu.” Instantly intrigued, I signed up to study with Harold at Harbin Hot Springs in California. At that time, I had already co-founded Stillpoint Health Associates, where I had built a thriving “land” massage practice, primarily practicing Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi and Trager work.

My first Watsu session came unexpectedly during a class break. A remarkable individual named Tal Hurley offered to give me an experience of the work I had chosen to study.

With thoughts of my recently passed father, I was swept into an emotional journey that I could only describe as going through “the bardos,” as referred to in the Tibetan Book of the Dead. It felt like riding on the tail of a dragon by far the most profound experience I had ever felt. After several minutes of inegration I could only manage to slowly articulate one word,  “profound”

In that transformative moment, I knew I had discovered an extraordinary healing modality. I became a certified Watsu practitioner in April of 1996, fortunate to both learn from and work with Harold Dull and also later worked with Alexander George, who was a teaching assistant in my classes and later founded Healing Dance, which I studied until 2007.

My exploration also led me to study with Arjana Brunschwiler, founder of WaterDance an underwater technique developed in Germany, and the “Jahara Technique” with Mario Jahara. By weaving together these teachings with my natural inclinations, I’ve crafted my own unique approach to warm water therapy.

Your healing journey is as individual as you are. Whether you seek personal transformation, emotional release, or simply a profound connection with your inner self, I invite you to explore the depths of warm water therapy with me. You may well discover what patiently waits for you in your own inner depths.
